[opensuse-factory] yast2 errors out with libpy2Pkg.so.2: undefined symbol?
Hello all Can anyone please help me out here. I did a fresh install over the week end. Then I used apt and smart to upgrade to the lastest packages. Now I can't run yast(2) anymore. Below is the error I get when I run yast2 and try and install mysql. # yast2 Command: /sbin/yast2 sw_single & /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2Pkg.so.2: undefined symbol: _ZN4zypp13SourceManager7restoreENS_10filesystem8PathnameEb [0] y2pm > whatprovides libpy2Pkg.so.2 yast2-pkg-bindings-2.13.82-1.2 provides libpy2Pkg.so.2 Can anyone offer any possible solutions other than re installing ? Where did you find this? Are you using factory as installation source? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

Where did you find this? Are you using factory as installation source? If I am not mistaken it was from here via smart /http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/YaST:/SVN/SUSE_Linux_10.1...

Strange, your yast2-pkg-bindings version indicates that it's *not* from there. But your libzypp might be screwed up. What does rpm -q libzypp say? Andreas Hanke PS: By the way, I'm not sure if using YaST2/zypp from SVN is actually such a good idea. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org

This one comes from a repo which has the word "experimental" in its URL. Try the last released one: libzypp-1.1.0-1.11 Andreas Hanke --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory-help@opensuse.org
I don't see a real reason why you'd like to use that repository. It's SVN checkout just built for a given distro. The list of packages is not complete. Even we (the developers) do not use that packages. Use FACTORY. OK, now the explanation: libzypp changed its API with source-compatible only change, thus rebuild of yast2-pkg-bindings is needed. Use FACTORY. Stano P.S. Oh, maybe I forget to mention: use FACTORY ;-) Dňa St 14. Jún 2006 06:35 James PEARSON napísal:
