[opensuse-factory] Grub2 still boots with an error message about a missing file
Hello List mates, It looks like Grub2 is still booting with an error message about a missing file. I cannot find the error message in any log file. Any fix for this? Cheers! I cannot find the error message in any log file. Any fix for this? the missing file is en.mo.gz... practically it claims not to find the english british translation in folder /boot/grub2/locale/ or /boot/grub2-efi/locale/
copy one that you like to en.mo and problem solved... uk.mo is ukrainian if you wonder. It's still opening http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?35880 The fix could be done in two ways 1. Provide the en.po .. this seems to be what upstream developer wants. But this is a bit award requirement as the untranslated strings are in English already. 2. Grub2 should be relaxed with missing translation .. an error message is a bit overkill. For #1 I'm not sure it's valid or not, as I'm not familiar with NLS, by looking at /usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/ did reveal several mo files. That means en.mo is somehow necessary in some circumstance. (Any one who knows better could pointer this?) No matter what's the fact of #1, I would vote for #2, A missing translation is not error. Thanks, Michael

It appears just above the Grub2 menu. It's a quick flicker of white text on black background. Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
