[opensuse-factory] lxdm randomly eating cpu
Hi 12.2 RC1 with LXDE After certain processes lxdm runs close to 100% cpu and effectively hangs the machine. I have to have another root terminal open to kill it but it takes over 5 minutes to do so. The events seem random but are normally to do with creating LDAP users. Can anyone help or help me trace this? Hi;
Quoting lynn
Hi 12.2 RC1 with LXDE

The events seem random but are normally to do with creating LDAP users.
Can anyone help or help me trace this?
This is https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=741454 and fixed for 12.2 RC2. Hi Ismail Thanks. I'll go for lightdm I think until 12.2 RC2 although I tried the 0.4.1 lxdm git that was available in unstable thinking it may solve the issue, but no. Hi I just removed lxdm and installed lightdm. The 12.2 version looks similar to lxdm with none of that 1980's Atari look it used to have. It has also removed the lxdm cpu problem and stuff works at normal speed. I can't believe it. After 24 hours of working fine, now I have: lightdm-gtk-bui constantly consuming over 50% CPU and everything has gone slow again. What gives? Wait for RC2? Is there anything we can do now? I'm willing to test any patches anyone can throw at me. There is an rpm at: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=741454 #11 which fixes it for lxdm in RC1 Big thanks to Bernhard for rpm'ing it and to Ismail for pointing me at the bugzilla L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
