Kind thoughts,
Twice now I have downloaded the DVD delta iso (i386 version); twice now I have tried to apply it; twice now I have received the error message: Cracklib-dict-full (???) applying delta payload uncompress error and twice now I see, when trying to look inside the iso file. "CDROM is NOT in ISO 9660 format." So, where does one go from here? Thank you, Rajko, for this information. But for those Bilbo Bagginses what are about to go on this Adventure, you need to download- deltarpm-3.4-67.1.i586.rpm and lzma-4.32.5-3.2.i586.rpm for all this to work. (This is for a 32-bit system but I guess the same file names are to be found in the 64-bit directory.) While the new DVD has now been created and burnt I haven't 'fired it up' yet so let's hope it all works/installs. Thanks Carlos. I am, of course, running 10.3 and am now most puzzled why the new deltarpm and its associated dependencies have not been upgraded in 10.3. I can guess what your answer may be and I ask: why change horses in mid-stream with (little or) no notice? I think the problem comes from "rpm" having changed the payload compression algorithm. You can not open a factory rpm with the 10.3 rpm, not even with the factory rpm of two months back. The deltaiso program doesn't work on the binary iso, but on the contents of each rpm. The delta contains the modifications to each of the rpms, thus the rpms have to be opened. Upgrading the delta rpm in 10.3 could possibly break some other things, it has not been tested... thus the experimental, non official, package from coolo. However, factory users should already be prepared to jump over loops with fire on them :-P - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I think jumping thru hoops with fire on them is now becoming the norm rather than the exception :-) . And if you have an 11.x test version use it to apply the delta and burn the resulting iso. Or copy the new iso to your regular system and burn it. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

You are too early (tomorrow is the day). Go to ftp5.gwdg.de. Viele Grüße Eberhard Mönkeberg (emoenke@gwdg.de, em@kki.org)

Bob You're not looking in the right place, try:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0-Beta2/iso/ I use the delta iso and apply it against the earlier iso. You will need the newer deltarpm package from factory though. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
