[opensuse-factory] Updating Alpha4 to Factory
I'm trying to update some packages in Alpha4 to Factory. I have added the Factory repository to installation sources and deleted the Alpha4 source. However, when I try to update packages in YaST software management it say "installation source does not contain Alpha4 CD1". Probably the distribution identification string is Alpha4 and does not match with "Factory" that's in the repository. I think there is a quick way to change that identification. What would that be? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Given that Alpha5 is coming out soon and I'll do a clean reinstall, I don't mind messing up my current Alpha4 to an unrecongnizable bleeding mince meat mass. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Use YaST System Update. But be aware of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209407 Robert -- Robert Schiele Dipl.-Wirtsch.informatiker mailto:rschiele@gmail.com "Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur."

YAST gives me the error reported in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209961 when I try to add my usual source, mirrors.kernel.org. It seems I ought to be able to edit the sources config file directly to get around it, but I can't seem to figure out where that is kept. Somewhere in /etc/YaST2 is the logical place, but nothing there seems to have it.
Use YaST System Update.
I'd very much like to, but due to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214992 I can't do a fresh install and need to update, and I have neither smart nor apt installed. -- "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped."
