Hi All, I cannot reproduce this problem, though I can clearly see others reporting it https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/523042-Are-the-openSUSE-servers-u... Can you please describe what you are doing to come to the conclusion that Tumbleweed download is slow? Are you using zypper? are you downloading from download.opensuse.org directly? Which tool are you using for that? can you reproduce using wget? Which mirror do you use when using wget? Without any information I'm afraid no one will be able to fix anything (and all of this information would be best sent to admin@opensuse.org, our infrastructure ticket system) Regards, Richard On 15 February 2017 at 21:49, ellanios82 <ellanios82@gmail.com> wrote:

Like I said, I'm unable to reproduce this problem - getting a solid 3-5MiB/sec from zypper dup on my Tumbleweed machine at home as we speak Would be nice if you could try and answer some of my other questions, otherwise I'm pretty sure our experts are not going to have enough information to get to the bottom of what is going wrong for you. How fast can you run the following command? wget http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/ARCHIVES.gz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes but... Mirrorbrain. (Or at least that's what supposed to happen.) His home isn't your home, if the redirection works right.

Hence the questions asking them to use wget, so we can actually see the results of that command, which include the actual mirror, so we start investigating it? Otherwise all we have right now is 'somewhere, somewhen, there was a problem' - pretty hard for anyone to do anything about that, especially when we have so many mirrors: http://mirrors.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yep, that is so. I think, though, that the mirror used should be listed in the zypper log. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R. That doesn't seem slow.. is zypper dup still slow for you? What does the zypper log say after that zypper dup? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

After some checking it looks like it was my ISP. I was getting 350 KBs.all afternoon. Just now it's increased to 7.5 MBs. wget http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/ARCHIVES.gz 100%[===============================>] 80,233,985 7.47MB/s in 25s Looks like they've upped my download speed..
