Well, The issue with gcc is not the only one. It seems that we also have two mysql related packages (mysql-community-server and mariadb) that no longer build required devel packages. This resulted in quite some number of unresolved build requirements. For me it is just strange that Factory in this state was copied over the snapshot on which many other repo's are relying on. zypper in gcc-java lead to error
nothing provides gcc46 = 4.6.0_20110505 needed by gcc46-java-4.6.0_20110505-2.2.x86_64 and same for other related things
