This is exactly what I dislike most about systemd and its lobby. They defined their narrow view of the world and everything that doesn't fit into this view is dismissed as "wrong". Some time ago, someone used an analogy of horses and cars (to represent traditional init and systemd). And this demonstrates why this analogy is completely wrong: when cars were invented, nobody took horses away from people. Nobody said: "Horses are bad, from now on, you have to use cars even if they cannot replace horses for your purposes; if this is the case, your usage pattern is wrong." The cars had to win in a fair contest. Why don't you want to let systemd to (try to) win in a fair contest as well? Do you think system admins are stupid so that you have to take the decision from them for their own good?
