I realize that, but as long as the kernel's API for the module hasn't changed, it isn't so important if the ABI changes. You can still work out all the build problems, and then when the final ABI is in place you just trigger a rebuild, which for a KMP shouldn't take more than a few minutes
There also is a freeze time between the actual finishing of the distribution and the public release of it. This was 4? 5? days this time(?). In this time we could have got NVIDIA drivers ready. It just needs Coolo to trigger the responsible people I guess.
