How is: "zypper --no-allow-vendor-change dup" better than "zypper up"? I have seen quite a bit of debate about "zypper up" vs "zypper dup", but I never seem to miss out on anything with "zypper up".
It is probably more prudent - you never noticed you missed something. To state you did not miss you need to compare both "zypper up" and "zypper dup" every time. I remember several cases of unintentional vendor change in TW. They were corrected at the end, but intermediate results were different. Also openSUSE seems historically to rely on "zypper dup" to resolve package changes that would normally be solved using proper Provide/Obsoletes/Epoch. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
