is there a public rsync mirror for openSuSE Tumbleweed preferrably in Germany? I couldn't find one in the mirror lists.
ftp.gwdg.de::pub/opensuse/ offers openSUSE But I'm not sure how often it syncs.
Every 4 hours.
/pub/opensuse/repositories/ gets pushed directly, so should be actual all the time. tumbleweed is part of repositories.
thx for this informationm but
rsync ftp.gwdg.de::pub/opensuse/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/
only shows very old contents, nothing from the latest Tumbleweed distro.
Where do I have to look?
My take on Tumbleweed is that it's mostly a superficial rename of factory, designed to make the name better reflect its purpose. Only the upper levels of the project got renamed. Most things scripts depend on kept the name factory. That includes the main repos oss & non-oss. Where you see main repos named tumbleweed it's because of symlinks. If you ask for tumbleweed you get factory, and vice versa. IOW, so far, factory as we knew it is mostly still with us, and tumbleweed is mostly a nickname for it, with some policy changes that don't manifest in the names. According to http://mirrors.opensuse.org/ rsync://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/ has what you need. Where you see checkboxes in its Factory column, just pretend the column heading is Tumbleweed. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
