I thank you for you invitation to participate in those 2 bug reports. This is the first time ever that someone has invited me to participate in such an exercise which is why I feel quite flattered and am therefore thanking you :-) .
:-)
However, the problems you mention in those 2 reports are not the same as what has been reported earlier and which I am experiencing as well as others.
Ok, yes, I also saw it. But because I mostly use the yast ncurses interface, I did not suffer that much (I think the ncurses interface is not affected--at least, I just was able to select "dolphin" (for testing) and install it with all its dependencies).
Now, zypper is fully functional and the only way at the moment in 12.2 to get (most of) the software installed.
And yast's ncurses interface, IMO.
Although, I think, if my memory serves me correctly, running 'yast' as root from a command line, when one boots into level 3 at the grub boot menu, works correctly and it doesn't do the Houdini disappearing act :-) .
Yeah, this ensures that you run the ncurses interface (if I got you right). Of course, you can also use the ncurse interface in regular X session: start an xterm, 'su -' to become root, and enter 'yast'. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
