I have made this feature request. I feel that something like this is critical. Though I am not the most saavy user, I have always been able to resolve a problem eventually. However this one i have been forced to concede defeat. A Wizard allowing easy setup and use of my mobile broadband would be greatly welcome, and I doubt I am the only user in this boat especially since netbooks are becoming more popular.
The NetworkManager applets should do this for you already. That's assuming the modem hardware is supported of course.
