It searches the partitions, sees there are disks with more than 16 partitions, and pops a large warning, recommending to reboot the install with kernel option "hwprobe=-modules.pata".
That should not happen. Please file a major bug in bugzilla against "Installation"
As far as I know, this is exactly what should happen in this case. sata driver only supports up to 15 partition, so the only way to use more is use plain old IDE driver.
Acording to bugzilla bug #218122, comments #18 and #19, it should be using the device mapper now. :-? Plus, as already reported, if I use the plain old ide driver, as instructed by the pop up message ("hwprobe=-modules.pata"), then I bump into bug #305095: "CD-Installation fails when partitions >15 are involved" Ie, the installation program keeps asking for CD1, which does not exist as I'm using DVD install. This is what is reported in #309070. I can agree I wrote a duplicate bug, but not an invalid one. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
