Hi Together, I'm not sure if this is the right thread but if not please excuse me. What happens till now: Since this update, my nis+nfs clients hangs. After following the discussion here I repaired them, and also solved the *.rpm{new/save}* on my server according my best knowladge. But the server crashes completly, so nothing works anymore. The only possible solution was to install him new with 20200205 tumbleweed install package. Due to the fact, that the installation hangs, I disconnected all not root HDDs and installed him new and connect afterwords all HDDs and mount them again (mainly /home). Afterwords I installed dns_server, dhcpd, nis_server and nfs_server. I cofigured all via yast2 <servicename>. All works fine, only problem is the nis_server. After configuration, I closed yast window an during generation of the configfiles, there was an error, but if I open the log via button in the message, it was empty. Afterwords yast2 nis_server crashes during reading of the configfiles with: ----- Internal error. Please report a bug report with logs. Run save_y2logs to get complete logs. Caller: /usr/share/YaST2/modules/DNS.rb:200:in `Read' Details: uninitialized constant Yast::Lan ----- Beside nis, all works fine and "rpmconfigcheck" shows now entry to do. Am Donnerstag, 6. If we take login.defs as example: /usr/etc/login.defs uses for NIS DES. You create a file like /etc/login.defs.d/crypt.defs and changes the default to SHA512. You have in /etc/ only the variable with SHA512, nothing else. You can lookup everytime in /usr/etc/login.defs what the current default is. But you don't need to care.
I've also done this. Additional, I linked all files in /usr/etc in the related /etc drive. Additional I added in each service of nsswitch.conf the entry "usrfiles" (remark by the way, this is according hearder "# Legal entries are:" not a valid entry). Any proposal, what can be done? Remark: My family is not so happy, with the not running network since one week and requested to solve it in a short time :-( Regards Ulf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
