I have to disagree here, I use it occasionally, most often when giving presentations: no more blank screen in the middle of the presentation or during questions, when the desktop is shown no folder view as people have no business with other documents I keep there, the default wallpaper since it is more professional than the other I use, etc.
I use it the same way. Nice to have clean, non-personal desktop for presentations, and a personal desktop for other situations, that you can switch between with a couple of clicks. On my mediacenter I also use plasma-desktop. With different activities for movies, tv shows etc. Activities are not hard to understand, it's just different desktops.
