Since some time kernels in Tumbleweed have multiple builds for each version. The build number is not taken into account correctly when multiversion kernels are enabled. I've filed bug#855517 and Michael Andres commented that he thinks the packaging is incorrect. The current situation looks like this onh my system: i | kernel-pae | package | 3.12.6-5.1.g080d0df | i686 | (System Packages) v | kernel-pae | package | 3.12.6-5.2.g080d0df | i686 | Tumbleweed If I were to install the new build, both builds would be recognized as installed, but since both kernels install into /lib/modules/3.12.6-5.g080d0df-pae only the latest install would actually be present. This then confuses the old kernel cleanup script to remove kernels that it should keep and "keep" kernels that are not actually installed.
