Mine actually started at 0 for the initial snapshot. But older snapshots get auto-cleaned, so if you've let it run for a while, you're going to see only higher numbers of those snapshots still active.
Tomorrow, I'm going to order a 1TB drive. How much space should I assign for root when using btrfs?
The installer assigned 40G and I've kept it that way. It's on an LVM volume, so I can increase it if I wanted to.
