Did you ever find a resolution to this ?
I updated my motherboard bios yesterday and after the update
df -h /sys/firmware/efi/efivars when from 167k / 89% used to 156k / 84% used.
Ultimately, I used a setting in the EFI BIOS utility to reset the certificates back to the default, and then upgraded to the latest. For me, it was a matter of deleting the certificates and then using the option in my system to reinstall the default certificates.
Then I started the system and used fwupdmgr to upgrade to the latest version - the reset/reinstall freed up enough space.
When I installed the new BIOS yesterday I did the Load Optimized BIOS defaults, I'll have to look further for a setting to reinstall the default certificates. Do you recall the verbiage it used ? There are hundreds of setting in the BIOS on this motherboard. -- Regards, Joe
