Hi, My scanner now works correctly in openSUSE 10.2 after applying the correct USB Vendor and Product ID (0x04b8 0x808) to the 'usb' line in </etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf> as described by Jon Nelson in his comment # 4 Bugzilla # 229250. It seems to me that there may be more than one problem here given the Sane Bug Tracker # 304271 reports in part:- "seems libsane 1.0.17 is working for these scanners, 1.0.18 not" and the Epson site <http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_spc.html> contains what appears to be a simple typo error in the configuration file <epkowa.desc> contained in <iscan-2.4.0-0.c2.tar.gz>. (I believe the CC600-PX, CX5100, CX5200, CX5300 and CX5400 should all report Vendor/Product ID 0x04b 0x0808) I note also the Sane developers appear to have incorporated the incorrect 0x0801Product ID in their equivalent sane.desc file. Ironically now that my scanner is working again, it hasn't worked since SuSE10.0, the print heads have totally blocked up and I'm up for a new MFP! I've now seen three (3) CX5300's fail because of ink blockages so my new one will not be from that stable :-( --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
