I mentioned that I removed the patches 01-42. The script does not understand it.
Seriously, is it this hard to list all the patch files in the changes? A simple "Dropped patches: <list of all patch files>" would have been sufficient *and* it would have taken you *less* than starting this thread.
And this is exactly what is wrong - and has been wrong for few years - with request handling in both openSUSE and SLE. For anyone except the bot, the entry saying "drop all patches" is way more useful
"All" depends on context which is not known at the time someone actually reads changelog. It is pretty easy to grep changelog for patch name to see when it has been added and removed. It requires careful reading to understand whether specific patch added years ago is covered by "all" in this case. Because there may be many "all" in different points of time.
Yeah if I need to go back in 3 years and work out the lifespan of a patch, its far easier to just search the changelog for all instances of the patch, Its something I have to do on occasion with packages i'm not necessarily the maintainer of and rules like this make it much easier. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
