I had a spare laptop on hand with a clean install of tumbleweed and this issue also occurs. I also reinstalled tumbleweed with Gnome instead (which appears to use Wayland by default) and the screen locking does no occur.

Anyone else experiencing this? If so, I will probably file an upstream bug report.

Try Ctrl-Alt-F2. Plasma on Wayland runs there, while sddm occupies Ctrl-Alt-F7.
