This is needed continuously when updating as it is called from mkinitrd, and mkinitrd seems to be called from all kinds of packages. Especially udev updates seem to call it a lot.
- pulseaudio seems dead now. Simply no sound output. Direct alsa output works. If I strace the pulseaudio daemon it seems to transfer data and the volume/mute seems to be up too in a mixer. But I don't hear anything. Mainly a problem with youtube et.al. as flash seems to use pulse unconditionally now.
Odd, it all works here for me.
Hmm ok. I'll see if I can find out what the pulseaudio problem is. The update problem only happens during the updates of course. I saw it on two different systems. Both updates were relatively large.
What does: zypper update -t package show?
