After a lot of work to upstream and rebase patches, we were finally able to update dracut to 049 and are now in a good position to follow upstream more closely.
Thank you very much to all involved!
Some of the most notable changes to 044 are: ... - support keyfiles embedded in the initramfs
Just curious - can you point me to some more details about this?
commit 1fc68b989d024e58dde1ec3f9264784173b5b685 Author: Moritz Maxeiner <moritz@ucworks.org> Date: Thu Mar 30 02:05:52 2017 +0200 crypt: Support keyfiles embedded in the initrd For rd.luks.key=keypath:keydev:luksdev, keydev being '/' will assume the initrd contains the keyfile.
Reason for my question: I have a keyfile in the initrd since quite a while, as described on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Encrypted_root_file_system (section "Avoiding to type the passphrase twice), and wonder if I should or need to change something now.
As far as I can tell this code is used only in non-systemd case which is pretty much irrelevant for openSUSE. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
