note that the easy solution might not always be the right one... whereas it's great to have identified fontconfig to cause this issue, I doubt reverting to 2.10.3 will help Greg a lot.
At least gnome-documents in Tumbleweed will break together with this change; the same is true for Factory and the correct way forward is to FIX this.. not to close the eyes and walk away from it.
