I've run into a quite unexpected problem with this snapshot: my mouse stopped working in an almost hilarious way: I can still move the pointer and things like the screen saver register clicks and scroll events apparently (or just the activity really), but everywhere else I can't click or scroll, not even on the login screen.
I've booted into the previous kernel (4.16.12-3) and the problem is gone, so something's fishy (probably) with how the 4.17.1 kernel treats Logitech mice.
I don't mean to sound condescending, but have you checked the batteries? My Logitech wireless mice & keyboards have done really whacky and inconsistent things over the years when the batteries have got low/old - including working "normally" for a couple of hours after rebooting a machine that had been up for 80+ days. I've hypothesised that a 10 minute break for a reboot is enough time for the chemical reaction to release a tiny bit more charge to let the device stagger on for another few hours. So if you've left the mouse alone long enough for the screensaver to kick-in... With 12-15 month battery life expectancy, I often can't remember the last time I had the AA's out/swapped to re-charge.
