Opensuse 12.1 Tumbleweed - after upgrade kernel from 3.4 to 3.5 command s2ram does not not work. It looks that there is a problem with the graphic driver - the card is GeForce 8600 GT, driver nouveau Gallium (7.11). The computer goes to sleep, but after wake-up it is frozen after while or after next command s2ram restarts. Downgrade to 3.1 or 3.4 solved the problem.
I'm glad to hear the thing works for somebody under some kernels.

Mine suspend/resumes great.. except for the minor inconvenience of suspending in living color, and resuming black on black :) My solution is "don't do that, and don't even think about feeding this card to nouveau". Here, 8600 GT means "nv driver, no suspend, no toys".
Might this be the same issue as reported with https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=774483 ? Bug 774483 - nouveau [GeForce 8600 GT] Screen distortion After the first system startup I must kill the X server once and the suspend works with the nouveau driver.
