Evergreen was a community-based effort to provide LTS security updates after the EOL for a few consecutive openSUSE releases. It was absolutely not a rolling release. Perhaps you are remembering something besides Evergreen.
It sounds like Patrick is remembering GregKH's original Tumbleweed, which was called Tumbleweed, not Evergreen.
I'm rather aware of the difference, given I'm the person who took over the openSUSE:Tumbleweed OBS Project from Greg, and also the one who discussed with Wolfgang (the owner of Evergreen) when Leap was being conceptualised.
But I'm open to the possibility of Patrick living in a different reality from me and wish him all the best in his version of this universe.
seems to me that we both possess that reality, and recognizing that poses no problem for me. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc
