It seems that I am not the only one who picked it up. llvm has a strange status at this moment. It compiles in Factory, but not in it's devel project nor in any other project. I even aggregated llvm from factory into my branch, but this didn't resolved the issue.
Once we have Mesa building again, there are some more ideas on how to extend it further :) (llvmpipe, allowing gnome-shell to run without hardware accel comes to mind, and svga gallium driver, which, as per my understanding, offers the needed backend for xf86-video-vmware to support 3D capability in a VMware VM as well...)
Are we sure that these options are off in the current package ? Because the llvm errors are when building llvmpipe. The svga gallium driver is indeed not build yet.
