I know I saw a post which explained that the Factory updates would be less frequent now that there are builds going on for RC1 (or something along that line). I'm new to Factory so I don't know what the previous frequency was but I'm only seeing new packages for Factory about once a week. Is this the expected frequency? I'm not complaining; I just thought that I'd be able to do a significant amount of testing leading up to the release date but at this frequency my testing is pretty much irrelevant. There would only be 2 more Factory "releases" before the official launch so I don't feel that I'm contributing in any significant way to the testing effort. I have a few bug tickets and at least one that has a posted solution: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=434598 but I have no clue how to test it as there are no updates for Factory at this time. If I'm reading the bug report correctly, the only way to test would be to have the source for that package, apply the patch and recompile? If that's the way it is then that's OK but I would suggest however that having nightly builds of these things available would result in a larger testing audience. I'm hoping someone can clue me in on how to be a more effective tester.
