As a wild guess - modesetting driver defaults to DRI3; I presume nVidia supports DRI2 (I may be wrong here). I could not find how to force modesetting to use DRI2; but you could try Intel driver whether it works, it can also be forced to use DRI2 with Option "DRI" "2".
Adding DRI 2 doesn't change much. For some reason `xrandr --listmonitors` says: Monitors: 0 Adding manually by `xrandr --setmonitor Monitor0 1920/344x1080/194+0+0 eDP-1-1` Works ok, but `xrandr --auto` still fails with same error and new error at beginning: Configure crtc 0 failed Changing --crtc 0/1/2 — doesn't work. xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --crtc X --primary /* other outputs --off */ Says "Configure crtc X failed", where X = 0, 1, 2 (all `xrandr --verbose` says). Adding Monitor Section and Monitor to nvidia screen changes nothing (except new Modeline in `xrandr --verbose`). Any hints? Maybe it's better to write somewhere on NVidia forum? -- Kind regards, Mykola Krachkovsky -- Найкращі побажання, Микола Крачковський
