Ok. My statement was wrong, because I negated Simon's "fair chance", which certainly exists. Sorry about that. What I meant, but expressed wrongly, was rather that most of the time there are no guarantees when it comes to non-server hardware.
The only caveat is that it's a "best effort"; we have to keep the full compatibility and can't take too much risk to break existing stuff.
That's the point. For enterprise hardware we have feature requests from partners and paying customers, and dedicated resources. That goes further, and provides stronger guarantees, than the "best effort" support you mentioned. Martin
