I need to be able to know when a patch was added, and when it was removed. Such changes are one of the most likely causes of packaging or functional problems with a package.
And now go ahead and tell me, when was the last time that you had to look up one of "my" packages because of breakage.
I need to be able to look that up using simple things like filenames in changelogs.
Oh yeah, and next you tell me that you are doing this with automated tools that need to have every single patch listed? The changelog entry was completely clear, there was no room for misinterpretation, and it was much more efficient than 42 lines of patch names. Let's stop it here.
