I gave up trying to update an old tumbleweed - it would not work - so I downloaded the ISO and installed it.
Most things worked perfectly but
in /etc/ssh - there was no /etc/ssh/ssh_confg and no /etc/ssh/sshd_config for me to change so I copied them from my tunbleweed vm.
because they are in /usr/etc if you alter them, they need to be copied to /etc/.. and altered there.
No, because in this case, you have to manually sync distribution changes to this file. Why do you think we have have /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/ and /etc/ssh/ssh_config.d/? Please put a snippet with your changed configuration optionin this directories. Afterwards you don't need to care anymore, if we change /usr/etc/ssh/ssh_config or /usr/etc/ssh/sshd_config Thorsten -- Thorsten Kukuk, Distinguished Engineer, Senior Architect, Future Technologies SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, Frankenstraße 146, 90461 Nuernberg, Germany Managing Director: Ivo Totev, Andrew McDonald, Werner Knoblich (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg)
