That's not the only consideration.
One, is that not everybody can download a DVD fast. For me, it can take about two days. Ok, I can do it in a day, but then I can not do any other thing, because my internet pipe is filled to capacity. Or, download it during sleep, leaving a machine running for that purpose.
Another, is that often people download the lives to test them, and after they decide they like the system, they install it. That one, is, IMHO, a very important consideration.
