At least you still have 1.8 9 10 and 11 (so really a big choice of jvm)
The question was whether 11 is a good default. Looking around the openjdk website, 10 seems to be just 2 weeks old. Are there major problems with this versions that are fixed in the 11 dev version? Is the 11 version clearly marked as a development preview in the opensuse package name to guide users? While I do check java package selections during installation because I had problems with gcj-compat-devel in the past, I wouldn't have known about the status of version 11 before Antonio's message.
