Again I needed to reload openSuSE 11.4 because a NET load of 12.1 failed to boot. What failed was Desktop however, failsafe would boot. I think it was a option in /boot/grub/menu.lst that this unit did not like. Now I have 11.4 up again and it works ok, but it has NO hostname in a login screen or uname -a . Yet /etc/HOSTNAME is set and /etc/hosts is correct and all entries in it can be reached with ping. Yast2 was checked for a Hostname and it was correct. All logins show "(none)" and so does "/bin/hostname". This is a Asus M4A7TD 4G X86-64 and NVidia GT-440. which is working -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Skype:n5xwbg BMWMOA #:4146 Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
