Well, there is always the argument of not wasting the (limited) resources of OBS.
On the other hand, current situation of new (or old) targets missing in devel (and other) projects is often worked around by people simply linking them to their own project to get the packages built. This, of course, means much bigger wasting than if the targets were enabled in the original project.

Seems like we agree the end result is the same...the new distro gets added as a target. It's just a matter of wasting time nagging people or just flipping the switch automatically.
