subject: Asking for help with what has changed in Leap 15.5 Hello openSUSE!
we'd like to ask every single one of you for help with reviewing and updating what has changed in openSUSE Leap 15.5.
We have the following page which tracks relatively detailed changes in individual subsystems. https://en.opensuse.org/Features_15.5
If you could find 5 minutes of your time, and review relevant sections for your packages that would be super helpful! We're mostly looking for interesting highlights. If you don't find time before the release, please consider making changes after June 7.
This page is often used by magazines who are looking for more details than we share in our release announcement.
Thank you The openSUSE Release team I am not a mantainer of any package, but I want to help, so I tried to improve feature notes for KDE section, Mesa section and kernel section. For KDE and Mesa section I was able to easily find packages in repository and info on the internet. For kernel I mostly improved wording to better describe, that kernel is not as old as it looks. I
Dne 01. 06. 23 v 21:19 Lubos Kocman via openSUSE Factory napsal(a): tried to guess there, how new GPU drivers are just from package logs, correct me there, if I am wrong. Here are some thoughts:
The GPUs that we specifically enabled for 15.5 and that people would be most interested in are:
AMD Radeon RX 7600, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT/XTX, Intel ARC A380, Intel ARC A750, Intel Arc A770.
The DRM subsystem (subsystem for GPUs) only got updated to v6.0 (not v6.2). Some drivers got additional version bumps but perhaps that is too much detail to provide in this document?
Thanks Patrik
Many thanks! I corrected wiki with your info
