Ever since systemd took over it waits for ntp to complete startup, which takes a long time on my machine.
What "it" above means? sysvinit would wait for ntp service to start as well. Could you please explain in more details what you mean?
Is there any way I can make systemd start ntp, but not wait for it before it considers bringing up kdm?
How is it related to systemd at all? bor@opensuse:~> grep Should-Start /etc/init.d/xdm # Should-Start: ypbind $syslog gpm firstboot kbd resmgr earlyxdm winbind acpid ntp systemd-user-sessions This is classical sysvinit xdm startup script which waits for classical sysvinit ntp startup script. It would have waited under sysvinit as well. If you want to change it - delete "ntp" from list in /etc/init.d/xdm. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
