I opened a bug to track this problem: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=962813 Additionally, a workaround for the problem, proposed by DimStar, is to add the following to the boot options BrokenModules=scsi_dh_alua With this, I could successfully start the installation process but I am not sure what are the consequences of blocking this module.
