Hi,
I'm testing the upgrade to 42.2B3 from a 13.1 install under vmware.
(DVD upgrade, or offline upgrade)
It has gone quite uneventfully. System boots. There is no network, just needs to enter in Yast and configure.
This has been solved on RC2, there is network automatically.
There is an issue, though: graphics are dead. Black, no response to mouse or keyboard, not even ctrl-alt-backspace.
Also solved on RC2. However, before starting the upgrade there is a popup that says that "The installed product is not compatible with the product on the installation media". I guess this is due to differences when parsing /etc/os-release or similar. A pity that 13.1 is not contemplated, because as it is Evergreen, most of the current Evergreen users will update to 42.2. A problem we still have is that there is no packman yet, so we can not see if the packages that on 13.1 were from packman are updated properly. As it is, the upgrade kept the packman packages from 13.1. A big improvement that I notice since the upgrade to 13.1 is that the DVD upgrade picks what is not on the DVD from online repos automatically. The rest comes from the DVD. My current internet is very fast, so I can't evaluate speed with a slow internet. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
