Hi,
are there any plans to support Kwin4 (at least at the xrdp server side) instead of compiz> Switching between compiz and kwin4 is just no
Here is a reply to your question I'm forwarding from David Reveman or resident NOMAD Developer: option for
the normal user.
How much is the "remote compositing" tied into compiz, is there a
no plan to support local compositing of remote desktops in kwin. however, I'm currently fixing a bug that prevents the kde4-window-decorator for compiz to work properly with xrdp and Xdmx. kwin4 on the remote (xrdp) side shouldn't be too hard to support. list of
requests done by the wm/cm on the xrdp side and how these get interpreted on the xserver side?
compiz is using automatic compositing and there's some forwarding of client messages taking place on the remote side but other than that, nothing special happening there. the dmx plugin for compiz will set a few hints that will indicate to a local instance of compiz that local compositing is supported but there's no unique communication done other than that. so if kwin would just be able to run in automatic compositing mode and set the same hints as the dmx plugin for compiz. things should just work. the current git repo for compiz dmx plugin can be found here: http://people.freedesktop.org/~davidr/plugins/ - david -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
