my /etc/fstab looks as it was. and has entries :
/dev/sda1 /mnt_cron auto noauto, user 0 0 /dev/sda2 /mnt_cron auto noauto, user 0 0 /dev/sda4 /mnt_cron auto noauto, user 0 0
..................
the Device entries are :
ls -la /dev/sda* brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 0 Oct 5 11:59 /dev/sda brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 1 Oct 5 12:08 /dev/sda1 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 2 Oct 5 12:08 /dev/sda2 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 3 Oct 5 12:08 /dev/sda3 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 4 Oct 5 12:07 /dev/sda4
.........................................................
all the SDA partitions say "is not a valid block device".
.....................................
Any ideas please how to solve the problem ?
Hmm, you should avoid using /dev/sdXX in /etc/fstab. The order of disks initialization was never guaranteed. Use some of /dev/disk/by-*. But that should not be the issue as you have the first partition on all disks. So what is exactly in the output of dmesg when you do that inside the failed boot's rescue console from the initrd? - -- js suse labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJQbrxLAAoJEL0lsQQGtHBJQI8P/jVBJX77oKFn+/1iSgfLKK4r 0pb9xiktaOS2MLGbLdGqZTYL5yld4YU7hKizZwPNAeJ8wiZ54ZOiMk58jTyjZq2h 0my7dwH2fsIvNW4CiaG+vMcl+j3pfm83A8RQHC9no6/TAKS+80JacJFEdwc/eC4c QBk8GpApqbgWde68vuWu1nyKlzGfTM+j2O1yfUZ9NP16LiQCqj/5htOPSDODoxSx i7/CsFgsW92CD56PnJO2haFC/WPHo3MEUiyE0E7g5FesLuOqgxYnxWQr0WlIig+k kpPhe7Dci9JM2mqOCM7h+BoNgXe9Jk6vcSJiNQlHorfZkFzQy0VWBV19JyzvgCIn UJ/rt+8HZYT/mo8LhHt+LHjOodN3KD2JnG1e8vvbdqWI/7zfS3xplvQw7KXvDCPP bhgTeugpwLc8/a2TyDGu4vub2YxuoVu8RzPjbuO73fQixvIMJX8WF7Ws+KO4QYrx fn1DWaZdAfkRldMGU2MA5vS0jvjmeW0TDh86n5b9mWj9yiOxeTrnzvR6U5iSxRQL EopDeCJ10/+CDlZaHay1cHIYdCykGdMLwcbABE2i5mybntdkK9CTchrwLFnKqgYf f5LVgtgiNRy+zhqFmcwYiLWCFWtURjrxcOLT6hkod+wTAjCrfenqQ5cpitHRjTmX BRvSCMOejTWvMbcx4e7x =epCD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
