If I understood coolo properly, the main reason for dropping them IS NOT that they are not useful anymore. The reason is that there is nobody taking care of them and they are usually broken. The question is not whether we want them (of course we do), but whether we can afford them. And we cannot if nobody steps in as maintainer. Coolo's mail was a call to action. No action (or ideas to workaround the problem), no installers.
