I have machines with a /boot partition that is now insufficient when doing updates to hold the three kernels needed momentarily (previous kernel, running kernel, and new kernel being installed).
For the issue that more space in a separate /boot filesystem is needed exists bugzilla #1171006. For all my affected systems the procedure described in https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1171006#c6 (replace /dev/sda1 with your current /boot partition in the command mount /dev/sda1 /mnt) worked. Possibly on EFI systems the /boot/efi filesystem should also be unmounted before unmounting the /boot filesystem. Regards, Dieter
