Hi, I agree with this view below. I do not see a reason to consider "Slowroll" "slow" and to name it like something "slow" for the users. I also think that it might be considered rolling a bit haltingly, so I don't consider it necessary to have rolling in the name either. From my perspective the release cycle is increased to 1-2 months (at least this is what I understood), and this doesn't mean something is slow in my point of view, but just having stronger periodic ticks. This is why I prefer "Pulse", but "Clockwork" or "Lighthouse" would be appealing to me as well. If I got wrong what Slowroll actually is - based on the descriptions - feel free to correct me. Hi,
I setup a survey to decide if we want to rename Slowroll and to what https://survey.opensuse.org/index.php?r=survey/index&sid=839619
Something like "openSUSE Tumbleweed-Slowroll edition" is nicely descriptive but a bit unwieldy.
My plan is to keep this open for some weeks - e.g. until 2023-10-08
IMHO the name should suggest stability, trustworthiness and/or regularity. My suggestions:
- Workhorse
- Diamond
- Clockwork
- Halley
- Full Moon
Best regards Thomas
