The old "dog" package is question worthy anyways. The RPM spec declares ownership of wildcard bin- and mandirs. https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/utilities/dog/dog.spec `%{_bindir}/*` `%doc %{_mandir}/man1/*` I would recommend against using it on a production system. You're right, I didn't notice it. This package hasn't been updated in 10 years and has currently no maintainer nor it can be found anywhere online (the site is down for me). I'd suggest to drop it, but I don't know if there is anyone still using it.
I have it installed and have used it but "using" I could not say. and perhaps there is not much needing updated in dog
