I don't understand this. A correct system upgrade should get the exact same version as a fresh install. That has been my experience during many years of SuSE/openSUSE upgrades.
Not in this case though.
The kdepim5 packages are named differently than the kdepim4 counterparts (e.g. kmail5 instead of kmail), and do not replace them automatically.
This was done on purpose to prevent surprises when upgrading (at least 2 applications are even missing in kdepim5, namely knode and ktimetracker have been dropped upstream).
As said, the new install with existing /home-partition is not covered by this. Having knode dropped is as well not ideal....
KMail 5.3.0 seems to load all mail again. The Email overview (upper right window) is terrible to read in the default theme - too low contrast between text and background. All mails require 2 lines, while the old kmail displayed the information (sender, subject, etc) in one line. Did not find the option to get the old settings back - any idea?
Cheers Axel
These are in the settings/theming. Play around with them until you're satisfied. Threaded, plain list, elegant, classic, whatever you like. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a.
