Is it really asked too much for a user to know how to install software?:
Yes
but some thinking before installing software is still required.
Indeed, the user needs to be presented with enough information to make an informed choice about whether or not he/she should really install it. However, this should not require the user to understand how the package management system works [insert obligatory car analogy here]. Especially when there is no technical reason that they should need to understand it in order to use it. Benjamin Weber
